Aisling Orr is originally from County Tyrone in Ireland and has been teaching in international schools for the past eight years. She completed her BEd in Primary Education with History at St. Mary’s University College, Belfast, and moved to Qatar in 2017. Since then, she has taught across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in two British Curriculum schools in Doha.
Aisling has a particular passion for Literacy and English, and she is delighted to be taking on the role of English Lead at Queen’s this year, having previously held the same position at her former school. This will be her fifth year teaching Key Stage 1, and she is especially excited to share her love of reading and writing with younger learners.
Outside of the classroom, Aisling enjoys all things sport and plays Gaelic Football with Qatar GAA. She also loves travelling, spending time with dogs, enjoying a good coffee, and getting stuck into a good book.
Aisling is really looking forward to a fantastic year ahead and is excited to be joining the Queen’s community.
