Key Stage 3 and 4: Ages 11-16 years
Embarking on their Secondary School career, students build on skills developed in Primary School, with a particular emphasis on metacognition and their personal approach to independent learning.
The Secondary curriculum spans Years 7 to 13, providing students with structured and assessed education in core subjects, including English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Modern Foreign Languages, Design and Technology, Art and Design, Music and Physical Education. This curriculum ensures that students acquire essential knowledge in core subjects and develop skills crucial for lifelong benefit. The curriculum also supports students’ spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development.
All Secondary School students at Queen’s Qatar study Qatar History (Years 7-9), while Arabic students (Years 7-12) receive instruction in Arabic language and Islamic Studies, according to Qatar’s MOEHE requirements.
At the end of Year 11, students will sit for International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations.
