Queen’s International Named a White Rose Maths Champion School

Apr 13 2026

Queen’s Primary School is now a White Rose Maths Champion School, joining a global community of schools recognised for their teaching.

This accreditation applies to our primary phase, from FS1 to Year 6. White Rose Maths has formed the foundation of our mathematics teaching since the school opened, so Champion status is a meaningful recognition of our ongoing commitment.

Parents will notice the impact in every lesson. Pupils follow a carefully sequenced approach that builds deep understanding before advancing. They begin with physical objects and visual models, then move to abstract concepts. Each year group develops fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving together, so pupils understand both the methods and the reasoning behind them. This approach aligns with the British National Curriculum and prepares students for success in secondary school, including IGCSEs and, from 2026, A Levels in our new Sixth Form.

Ms Ann Djedid, Principal at Queen’s International School, said:

“Becoming a White Rose Champion School is a lovely acknowledgment of the work our primary teachers do every day. We chose White Rose because it’s rigorous, it makes sense to children, and it builds a proper foundation. This recognition belongs to the team who’ve made it part of how we teach.”

Champion School status opens new doors for our primary teachers. Champion School status offers our primary teachers valuable opportunities for ongoing training, regular curriculum updates, and engagement with a dynamic community of practitioners in the UK and internationally.
